Data Analyst and Investment Analyst

As a central function responsible for most of the operational and financial models across the organisation, our Analytics & Modelling department builds the analytical foundation to support decision-making. Both roles will help shape how we work with data, models, and performance insights to drive strategic choices and Momentum’s growth journey.

Momentum Energy Group is a key player in Denmark’s transition to clean energy sources. Our activities span the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from a development pipeline of several gigawatts, to being one of Denmark’s largest owners of onshore wind turbines. Our portfolio covers wind, solar PV, and hybrid projects, and we operate across Denmark, Germany, and Sweden.

With our innovative approach to renewable energy, we deliver tailored solutions for renewable assets to pushing boundaries in recycling and refurbishment. We were the first company to successfully complete an offshore repowering project in Bockstigen, Sweden, and we continue to lead the way in accelerating the transition to clean energy.

Your role

Shared focus areas

In Analytics & Modelling, you will work closely with senior management and the Board, gaining exposure to a wide range of strategic and operational challenges.

Whichever role you take on, you will contribute to analyses that create transparency around business performance – from evaluating the performance of energy assets and analysing power market trends, to uncovering production drivers, assessing profitability across business areas, testing investment assumptions, and understanding the impact of market or regulatory changes.

Because of the team’s broad exposure to different parts of the business, many of these tasks will be carried out in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management and the Board.

Data Analyst – focus areas

  • Developing, maintaining and improving data models, dashboards and code (e.g. operational and investment models, forecasting frameworks, or management dashboards)
  • Identifying opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and improved reporting.
  • Collecting, processing, and analysing data from various internal and external sources to deliver high-impact analyses across the organisation
  • Structuring and validating data inputs to ensure a single source of truth and high data integrity.

Investment Analyst – focus areas

  • Developing, maintaining and improving commercial and financial models (e.g. pipeline and portfolio models, returns analyses, scenarios and sensitivities).
  • Performing valuation and analyses (NPV/IRR, sensitivity and scenario analyses) for new investments, repowering, divestments, and optimisation initiatives.
  • Assessing market and regulatory impacts on financial outcomes (e.g., price curves, capture rates, support schemes)
  • Analysing and reporting on performance management, including tracking of KPIs, variance analyses and profitability per business units

The exact focus areas will be tailored to your profile, interests, and experience.

Who you are
We are looking for self-starters who thrive working independently, take initiative, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a sharp eye for detail, and you are an effective communicator who collaborates well with stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management.

Just as importantly, you are eager to contribute to the continued development of the team – both professionally and socially.

Qualifications

Shared

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an analytical role, ideally within finance, investments, data analytics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant degree, e.g. within Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Solid Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar visualisation tools is an advantage.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

While prior experience in renewable energy or the energy market is a plus, it is not a requirement – an analytical mindset and the ability to learn quickly are more important.

Data Analyst

  • Experience with data handling and analysis (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA).
  • Experience with collaborative coding tools (e.g. Git), working with APIs, or Microsoft Fabric tools such as Power BI, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Data Warehouse is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
  • Understanding of data governance and ensuring data quality and integrity.

Investments Analyst

  • Experience in corporate finance, investments, transaction services, or related fields.
  • Proven skills in financial modelling, valuation methods (DCF/NPV/IRR), and sensitivity/scenario analysis.
  • Understanding of financial performance drivers and/or managerial accounting (budgeting/forecasting, variance and profitability analysis)

We believe that well-being and development go hand in hand, which is why we prioritise professional growth, personal balance, and a workplace that values diversity. Your work will have direct visibility at the highest levels of the company, and you will collaborate with colleagues across departments and countries.
